Talk:Hardened Scales (5e Feat)

Balance[edit]
Adding a potentially large, flat bonus to one's AC violates 5e's bounded accuracy. In other words, this an overpowered feat. Instead of just straight-up adding Constitution modifier, it would be more reasonable I think to do either of the following:
- You can add your Constitution modifier to your Armor Class in place of your Dexterity modifier. You can not gain this benefit if you are already adding your Constitution modifier to your AC, such as with barbarian's Unarmored Defense.
- While you are unarmored, you can choose for your Armor Class to equal 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Constitution modifier.
Something like one of those effects, combined with the +1 Con, would be balanced for a feat I think. - Guy (talk) 06:04, 13 May 2018 (MDT)
