Talk:Great Aquamentus (5e Creature)

I don't think that this creature should be outright immune to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage (something that no other creatures have), even with its weak point. All it has to do to avoid damage is keep its horn out of range of enemies and bombard them with spells and legendary actions from the air. A monster in a video game can have stupidity hard-coded into it, a monster in D&D is controlled by the DM. An excellent way to capture "your attacks don't do much to this creature" is to give it more hit points, because a creature with more hit points can stay in battle for longer. Or you could reimplement the changed that Special:Contributions/210.10.140.105 made to the resistances and immunities. SirSprinkles (talk) 02:43, 29 March 2017 (UTC)

My logic at the time was, "the only real difference between magical/nonmagical weapon immunity is whether or not the DM provides magic weapons to martial classes." In that sense, I felt it was up to the DM anyway—just as much as it is if the aquamentus wears a bucket over its weak spot. Even so, I didn't want this creature to be that much of a special snowflake; I was erroneously an iron golem or something already had such immunities. So, I took your advice with both this creature and the lesser aquamentus. Thanks. — Guy (talk | edits) 15:06, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
