Talk:Graceling (5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
Hey people, I know this is a bit OP but bear with me please and tell me what you think should be improved !
Balancing a bit, Graceling (5e Class)[edit]
you are correct in saying it is a bit OP, but it isn't that bad, the OP parts are the graceling gifts, I think instead of 14 and 16, they should be increased, its a bit too easy to "get everything." Maybe increasing these numbers to 18 and 20 per, would be more plausible, that way the character can focus into a goal of getting one of these gifts, instead of "I can get all of them with zero or little effort." and regarding the "Grace of the wise" and the "Grace of the cunning." Grace of the wise, their abilities are powerful, but it needs limits, maybe for the first state the ability to use any cantrip that you have seen once, to a limit of maybe 3, and for the use any level 1 spell you have seen once, limit it too, maybe a limit of 1-2 level 1 spells that you have seen once, and the class needs spell slots, maybe spell slots equal to the characters wisdom modifier, or slots equal to the characters level rounded down. this way the class has capabilities of magic, but doesn't show up the natural magic user in the party. As for the Grace of the cunning, having prof. in all wisdom and charisma skill is OP, maybe give them the ability to once 20 intelligence the character gets Prof. in 2 more skills that fall in the Wisdom or Charisma sections. I hope this helps with balancing the class and I hope you implement some of these suggestions, it is in all a good class, just needs that little bit of touch up and D&D spirit added to it.
Sincerely,
A D&D Enthusiast

Response to First helping edit ![edit]
^^ Thanks for your input, I did this a while ago now, and I completely agree with your idea of "raising the bar" for the 'Graces'.
I changed it a bit. I think chaining 18 and 20 is too close, so I chose to spread it 16 and 20.
For Grace of the wise, if someone decides to go Intelligence path, I want them to enjoy this, and I feel 3 cantrips and 2 1st level spells is just too few for proper versatile fun. So I limited it to knowing 5 at a time.
Grace of the cunning now gives 4 Wis or Cha skill proficiencies instead of all of them ^^ .
Thanks again for you enthusiasm Mr. D&D Enthusiast ;)
Tell me what you think of this edit and any thing else you think could be improved in the base mechanics of this class would be greatly appreciated !
Input on the changes[edit]
I agree with your changes, I agree that if they do pursue a path they should feel rewarded for their efforts. In a game I was apart of a friend used this class, and me and him went over it and were quite impressed with it and the uses it has. So we were able to experience the OP and the balanced parts of it all together. Im glad we could get it balanced cause it is a good class and could prove to be fun in future games if people use it. I plan to provide input on many thing in many different fields of the dandwiki so I could hopefully make things fun and shake things up. I plan to go providing balance. So, im glad the Graceling was the start of it. hope it gets further use and is enjoyed. And as far as any other thoughts on balancing I will make sure I mention anything that comes up.
Thank you[edit]

Testing !![edit]
That moment when your party who though you were a fighter or rogue realize you can copy their spells... XD
Wizard : "I'll cast Magic Missile : three azure-violet streaks of arcane energy stream out of my glowing hand and strike it !"
Graceling : " "Hu, that looks cool" I say, as I reach out my hand and cast the exact same spell."
