Talk:Godly Construct of the Astral Plains (5e Creature)
From D&D Wiki
Several issues:
- God's Core. It's death burst. Word it as such and be done with it.
- Astral Pillars. What? The wording is ambiguous (How many creatures can be affected at once? When can it be used? Action? Certainly not a bonus action) and it doesn't list a damage type (bludgeoning?). In fact, it should probably be changed to an action option.
- The slam attack should have an attack bonus of +19 and deal 5d12 + 10 damage, not have an attack bonus of +10 and deal 5d12 + 17 damage. Actually, where is that +7 damage bonus coming from? Its not proficiency bonus, because for CR 30 creatures, proficiency bonus +9.
- Why does it have proficiency in Survival? The Survival skill dominates foraging and tracking and the like.
- Is it meant to have Multiattack? SirSprinkles (talk) 01:02, 19 November 2016 (MST)
Undecided[edit]
It is not meant to have multi attack, for it is made of a metal and its surrounding rock known as Protonium (unlisted, will add later). I do not know if crushing damage is a thing, I have not looked it up, also, god's core specifically deals split damage, not same damage. This is also an optional boss for evil or chaotic alignments only. As for astral pillars, I wanted to make it a legendary actions but could not figure out how to make it a template —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 97.120.13.170 (talk • contribs) . - 1. Not exactly sure how mineral composition affects Multiattack, but OK.
- 2. Not crushing damage, bludgeoning damage.
- 3. What? Firstly, regardless of what its supposed to do, the wording is fairly bad (States Dexterity saving throw, but gives no DC), and secondly, average 100 damage? The balor's death throes (essentially death burst) only deals 70 damage. Thirdly, what kind of damage does it cause? Also, split damage? Why split damage? 8d12 gives a handy 52 damage on average, enough to harm, but not slay, high level characters after battle with a powerful foe.
- 4. Its included in the preload. Its the |legendary={{Legendary Actions|name=<!--creature name-->|actions=3}} part. SirSprinkles (talk) 02:00, 19 November 2016 (MST)
