So the 1d8 necrotic damage increases the normal damage? — Guy (talk | edits) 07:34, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
- My reading comprehension sucks, I guess. I was confused because this seems like it would be simply too good if there's a monk in the party, or even more so if that monk can take the Magic Initiate feat to learn this cantrip. It only requires a bonus action to activate, but for even a 1st monk it can increase average damage output by 9 per turn (or 13.5 with flurry of blows). This becomes crazy beyond compare as the monk's level increases, and this cantrip likely becomes more powerful. By 5th level alone, a monk could have an extra ~27 damage per turn under this spell, or ~36 with flurry of blows.
- I would suggest the following change: "For the duration, the first unarmed strike the creature hits with on each of its turns deals an additional 1d8 necrotic damage." - Guy (talk) 21:01, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
