Feedback[edit]

Very good, you should fix the age table however or explain why they always die at the same time. --Lord Dhazriel 21:16, 5 July 2008 (MDT)

Sorry. Typo, meant to put 9d%, but now edited. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jonathan Garrus, High Artificer of Alexandria (talkcontribs) 18:15, 6 July 2008 (MDT). Please sign your posts.

Favored Class: Cleric?[edit]

LA+3 means these guys make the most useless clerics ever. Surgo 13:22, 11 September 2008 (MDT)

Nice[edit]

Very sexy. But I want my spell resistance back -Risek 23:13, 11 September 2008 (MDT)

Also, how long does it take to change from humanoid to hybrid form? And what about my racial bonuses to Spot, Search and Listen? -Risek 10:53, 12 September 2008 (MDT)
I think it's all fixed now. Anything else? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jonathan Garrus, High Artificer of Alexandria (talkcontribs) 17:49, 1 October 2008 (MDT). Please sign your posts.
Whoa, that is definitely not LA +2, maybe if you added HD it would be.. -Risek 19:57, 1 October 2008 (MDT)
How would you fix it? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jonathan Garrus, High Artificer of Alexandria (talkcontribs) 19:04, 4 October 2008 (MDT). Please sign your posts.
Hmmm....Maybe give it two racial HD and LA +2?-Risek 19:23, 5 October 2008 (MDT)

How I'd do it[edit]

  • +2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence, +2 Charisma, –4 Constitution: Nimble and intimidating, favored of Lolth are extremely frail.
  • Humanoid (Elf, Shapechanger)
  • Medium: As Medium creatures, favored of Lolth have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
  • Favored of Lolth base land speed is 30 feet; in hybrid form, they also possess a climb speed of 30 feet.
  • Immunity to magic sleep effects, and a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells or effects.
  • Darkvision out to 120 feet.
  • Spell resistance equal to 11 + class levels.
  • Weapon Proficiency: A favored of Lolth is automatically proficient with the hand crossbow, the rapier, and the short sword.
  • Spell-Like Abilities: Favored of Lolth can use the following spell-like abilities once per day: dancing lights, darkness, faerie fire. Caster level equals the favored of Lolth’s class levels.
  • Hybrid Form: A favored of Lolth may, as a full-round action that provokes attacks of opportunity, take on a form that hybridizes drow and spider traits. In this form, they gain six extra arms, all of which are useable, although each hand takes off-hand penalties as normal. Changing back to normal is another full-round action.
  • Sunlight Aversion: A favored of Lolth who is exposed to sunlight immediately loses an eighth of its hit points per round, until after eight rounds, it is completely destroyed.
  • +2 racial bonus on Will saves against spells and spell-like abilities.
  • +2 racial bonus on Listen, Search, and Spot checks. A drow who merely passes within 5 feet of a secret or concealed door is entitled to a Search check to notice it as if she were actively looking for it.
  • Automatic Languages: Common, Elven, Undercommon. Bonus Languages: Abyssal, Aquan, Draconic, Drow Sign Language, Gnome, Goblin.
  • Favored Class: Cleric
  • Level Adjustment: +3 or +2

Or, make it into a creature with HD and spellcasting, but then I'd just make a more demonic drider. -FREAKshow 11:57, 24 January 2009 (MST)

Other additions?[edit]

Wouldn't one so closely attuned with Lolth also get proficiency with whips? (Lolth's favored weapon).

Also, does the hybrid form have any natural bite or claw attacks? I see that the extra arms can hold weapons, I just don't get how that would actually work. Wouldn't they be more like spider limbs, and thus useless for holding weapons?

Furthermore, if half the hands can attack, that would be 3, not 4. 2 limbs need to be used to stand, and reason would say in hybrid form, a battling FoL would use four legs for support, four for combat.

Since spiders of all sorts in D&D have tremorsense, would a FoL? Maybe out to 60 feet or so.

That said, Drow almost *always* learn Drow sign language as a bonus language.

I don't mean to pick this apart so much, I actually really like it, but my DM and I can't seem to come to a consensus.
