Though it depends on what crafting rules you use (even in official published sources there's at least two options), why would you bother putting effort into crafting a magic item normally when you can just spend a day burning spell slots to cast this spell, adding ~50 gp with each cast? Again it depends on what crafting rules are used, but to be honest, it kinda just seems like a weird excuse for a player to avoid doing whatever the DM wants them to do to earn a crafted magic item... - Guy (talk) 16:55, 30 November 2017 (MST)
