Rebalaced(?)[edit]

Hey there! I just totally redid this feat. Let me explain why. Here is the original feat:

Eldritch Barrage

Prerequisites: Eldritch Blast cantrip

The power you hold inside is too intense for such a simple spell, allowing it to be released in a chaotic manner.

Whenever you use an action to cast Eldritch Blast, you may gain 3 additional actions that can only be used to cast Eldritch Blast. You may not use a bonus action or action surge the turn you activate this feat. You may activate this feat five times per completed long rest.

The way this feat was originally worded, you could cast Eldritch Blast 4 times as an action. This is ridiculously powerful, and it scales. If you have this feat at 1st level and you use it, that would be 4 beams total, which would end up dealing a maximum of 4d10 damage. By 17th level, however, your Eldritch Blast is 4 beams total, so you will be shooting off 16 blasts in one turn, for a total of 16d10 damage. I don't think I need to explain why that is overpowered.

Please, tell me what you think of the rebalanced feat. Is it too strong? Is it worded poorly? What can I do to improve it? Please let me know. I try to make my homebrew close to balanced with the core material, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks! --MarshDASavage (talk) 10:14, 12 March 2021 (MST)

The original intent was to be able to cast eldritch blast rapidly. Probably should have left it at just once per completed long rest. Lavie (talk)
