Why ECL = character level[edit]

Should explain *why* ECL is the same as character level in most cases but not in others. Hint: it's because when you add a class to a creature that has only 1 racial/monster hit die (like humans, dwarves, etc.), you replace the old racial/monster features with the new class features. 76.251.236.183 14:30, 11 December 2012 (MST)

It states that it is a measure of power, and this is right. Its an end calculation. --Green Dragon (talk) 06:34, 7 June 2016 (MDT)
