Talk:Dragon Full Plate (5e Equipment)

This armor should cost a lot based on the fact that with it you can have mundane armor(acquirable in shops, many campaigns don't sell magical items) that has a higher AC cap than 1st party mundane armor. This armor can provide you with far too much AC at lower levels as if it only cost say 200 gold and you had a 16 Dexterity and 15 Strength, you could start a campaign with 18 AC provided by the armor, +2 AC with a shield and +1 AC provided with the Defense fighting style making your AC 21 at 1st level. This doesn't even take into account you being a variant human and taking a feat that provides +1 AC. Overall this armor is meant to be a the mundane equivalent of magical half plate armor that provides +2 AC.--Blobby383b (talk) 02:55, 11 February 2018 (MST)

If this item is supposed to be as rare as described, I'm changing it to very rare, which might not even be rare enough. As "one of the rarest types of armor", I'm surprised this wasn't already the baseline. With how unique the description makes it sound like it's supposed to be, it also seems somewhat underwhelming. Finally, the DMG's magic armor has +2 magic armor at "very rare" anyways, so if this is to be flavorful mundane +2 half plate, it should be at least the same rarity as +2 half plate. That said, I'm also giving it a little bit something extra to distinguish it more from +2 half plate. IntellectMaster (talk) 15:49, 19 March 2021 (MDT)
