Talk:Deathclaw (Fallout Supplement)
From D&D Wiki
I'm not really sure the procedure here, but I think there were some major miscalculations on this page. Just to note a few: BAB higher than HD and the BAB + Str - Size is nowhere near the bonus on the attack. If the author has reason for these calculations they are potentially not broken, but it should probably be accounted for in its special qualities.
- You are correct. These stats were last edited over two years ago, so if you'd like to take a crack at it, you're welcome to. While creatures should be a higher priority than weapons, I am focusing on the equipment before I work on creatures so that I can properly fit out enemies that have equipment on them. It's a long process, for sure (I've been working on this on and off for years, but practically alone). So yeah, the stats are certainly off, you're free to fix them, but otherwise I'll get around to it some time before I die.
This isn’t a critique, just a suggestion. The deathclaw in this stat block doesn’t have the same fear and power that it does in the games. I mean, it has a CR of 10, this thing should be as powerful as the following: Tiamat is to Pit Fiend as Tarrasque should be to deathclaw, maybe a little less powerful. I mean, in game, it takes hundreads if not thousands of minigun shots to kill it, I know this is only the default type though, so it’s understandable why it can’t be too powerful. Maybe add a frightful presence or something. Because now, it’s a low level boss, a medium level enemy, and a high level nuisance. Deathclaws were supposedly nerfed in FO4, so they didn’t have the power to be as frightful as they should, but they should in the d20 modern version. Maybe even a legendary action or two. --Kanon (talk) 18:29, 24 June 2020 (MDT)
