You can dip warlock for a few levels, pick up the ability to produce and see through magical Darkness, and all it cost was a few levels of a class--a pretty reasonable dip... or you can take one feat and get bigger Darkness (which, by the way, targets an object not a point), Truesight rather than just "no longer obstructed" sight, and the ability to entirely negate a single source of damage, no matter how massive, as long as Darkness is already up.
