Quick question the 20 fingers thing, does each finger or whatever increase a modifier by 1 or the overall ability score, its a little confusing since you said (modifier) so does it increase modifier by 1 or just the ability score overall like 18 to 19. -modgilgamesh101

It's just the ability score overral, but it seems like there has been some shadow buffs while i didn't pay attention. Thank you for warning this, i'll fix it immediatly. -Xandelicious

Balance

Distribution of the cursed objects would be a DM-adjudicated, and no guideline is given beyond "legendary" rarity - generally this means 15th level onwards, and indicates they should be given as rewards like magic items. Since all players are given rewards anyway, this is not really a racial feature. Beyond that, this allows the player to achieve 20 in every ability score, and I can't make sense of what the feature means from "Furthermore, you know..." onwards. There's also an issue with "gain 2 features of your choice" since different racial features have different weights (e.g. a Dragonborn only has two features anyway, so you get the full benefits of being a dragon born AND a cursed vessel).

This would be better off as a prestige class (you can gain a level in it if you find a cursed object), but even then I'm doubtful it would be that interesting, since the only benefit is an ability score bonus. Very dull. Marasmusine (talk) 09:32, 4 November 2023 (MDT)
