Questions[edit]
Does loading an alchemical crossbow's compartment provoke an attack of opportunity?
Also, how does this work with magical bolts? If I load the crossbow with a +1 frost bolt, then activate the alchemical compartment (which contains alchemists fire), does the magical frost effect negate the fire effect, or do both apply for 1d6 cold + 1d6 fire damage? I would assume both. Alchemists fire, though, typically ignited when exposed to air. That's why it's in a stoppered flask. So if you applied alchemists fire in the fashion of this crossbow, you'd have lit alchemists fire being applied to your bolt. Not fun. Seems a lil' too cheap too..maybe increase the price?
I love the idea, though. --Othtim 15:40, 5 October 2007 (MDT)
- What do you think a good fix would be for this weapon? --Green Dragon 21:49, 9 October 2007 (MDT)
- Yes it does provoke an AoO. Well, I probably could lower the damage and increase the price as the crossbow would have to be specially made so not to catch on fire. But the magic bolts and the substance stack for damage. --Watsyurname529 12:17, 14 October 2007 (MDT)
- Cool. Like I said before, I love the idea here. :)))) --Othtim 13:05, 14 October 2007 (MDT)
- Okay, so I lessened the damage delt by adding the substance to half and increased the price. --Watsyurname529 19:04, 14 October 2007 (MDT)
- By the way, whenever you update a weapon, please remember to make sure that it matches its entry on Weapon Descriptions. Thanks. --Green Dragon 20:04, 14 October 2007 (MDT)
