Talk:Coldvein (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
I'm going to leave the original creator's note.--Yanied (talk) 19:12, 21 January 2019 (MST)
Per content from Unearthed Arcana races, the creature's type really would work better as a hybrid undead/humanoid. An example would be, Centaur: "Hybrid Nature. You have two creature types: humanoid and monstrosity. You can be affected by a game effect if it works on either of your creature types."
I also removed the line, "and any food you do attempt to eat falls through the space where your head would be and into the bottom of your armor" as the race description and concept is much more of a zombie type, whereas this description sounds more ghostly. A Coldvein seems to have a body, not skeletal or ghostly presence.
Changed Hellish Rebuke to Aganazzar’s Scorcher (5e Spell) to make it less similar to the Tiefling
- This race used the homebrew style of completely omitting humanoid types to play around with certain targeting spells. If needed for balance, you can rule it to be humanoid as well. Also, the spell added has no level specification. Additionally, why was the image removed.--Yanied (talk) 20:03, 21 September 2022 (MDT)
- It's a level 2 spell, and should be cast as such. As with most spells gifted from racial traits, they should only be cast at their base level, unless otherwise noted. Also, I am not sure about the image—if it was removed it wasn't done on purpose.
