Awesome[edit]

I've seen a couple ideas on Reddit and AngryDM articles for something like this and you've done the best job creating your own. This will definitely be used at my table. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 10:48, 20 February 2018 (MST)

Do me a real solid and let me know how it goes! I can make a few tweaks here and there with your help! (Varkarrus (talk) 11:02, 20 February 2018 (MST))
Yeah no problem Vark. :) BigShotFancyMan (talk) 11:47, 20 February 2018 (MST)

Variant Rule[edit]

Hey Geodude671, why did you remove the rule? For me it doesn't hurt or help the page, but I thought the category made sense. Did it cause issues with other DPLs? ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 12:01, 22 March 2019 (MDT)

Because this isn't a variant rule, it's a creature template. Also, the name didn't display properly due to not having variant rule identifier in its title, instead showing as "Boss Template)". If you think this should be displayed on that DPL, perhaps we could create the page Boss Monsters (5e Variant Rule) or similar, with the appropriate categories, as a redirect to this article? — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 12:06, 22 March 2019 (MDT)
That makes sense! Varkarrus (talk) 12:23, 22 March 2019 (MDT)
Ah, right. Good point. Well, to me templates themselves are variant rules, so what if maybe, Creature Templates (5e Variant Rule) then other templates (vampiric or lycanthrope that are most recently discussed) would pop up there too? Or is it all just extra steps and legalistic? ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 12:25, 22 March 2019 (MDT)
I figured the Boss template was a bit of a special case. Normally templates are just used to modify a creature, but this messes with the rules of D&D to a greater scale. Sidenote but I did the thing and it hasn't appeared in the Variant Rules page yet. I literally just remembered mid-sentence that it takes time to update esp if the results are cached, but I Guess it should be double-checked that it did / will work?
