Talk:Blood Storm (3.5e Spell)

Maybe Epic[edit]
This spell is cool. I definitely want to use it with the lich I am developing, but it should probably be an epic spell. Simply compare it to Dire Winter. They are very similar, but arguably Dire Winter is worse. --Aarnott 12:20, 9 February 2009 (MST)
- Dire Winter suffers from the fact that it kind of blows, so it's not exactly a good balance point. Surgo 17:44, 9 February 2009 (MST)
- Agreed. 1d8 or 1d6 is much more reasonable. Perhaps there should be some way to allow natural flying as well (maybe a saving throw, strength check, etc). In a planned combat, forcing difficult terrain and being able to fly when your enemy cannot makes this spell nearly an instant-win. --Aarnott 12:34, 11 February 2009 (MST)
- Hmm, well if your arguing that the way it is, a caster would be able to cast the fly spell and then just blast his enemies from a distance, then yes, thats a valid point, and I do like the idea of flying characters making a strength check to see if they can "muscle through" the wieght of the blood in order to fly. Thanks btw for your help, I'm not the best judge on balancing spells. → Rith (talk) 15:59, 11 February 2009 (MST)
- Lich? Wait do those have blood? It states that you need "17 drops of the casters blood". Do you keep it in your old and ancient blood in a jar. If so then the lich would never really use this spell unless he really needed it. ----Milo High-Hill 04:00, 6 December 2010 (MST)
