Talk:Aspidochelone (5e Creature)

Okay, I know this is a WIP, but there are still a few significant problems with this creature.

  • First, it's Intelligence and Wisdom scores are 50! You do realize that 5e creatures never have ability scores over 30, right? That's the "hard cap" for ability scores in 5e. See page 173 of the PHB for what I'm talking about.
  • Second, the hit points are wrong. If this creature has 150 hit dice and a Constitution of 30, it should have 150d8+1,500 hit points, not 150d8 + 300. Even then, the average hit points derived from 150d8 + 300 should equal 4.5 times 150, plus 300, which equals 975 - I have no idea where the 1,200 figure comes from.
  • Third, this creature is a beast. Typically, beasts are both unintelligent and do not have magical powers - this creature breaks both those rules. Perhaps you'd be better off making it a monstrosity? Quincy (talk) 17:11, 6 February 2018 (MST)
