Talk:Allegiance (5e Creature)
From D&D Wiki
Challenge Rating[edit]
- 9 Offense (47 damage + 10 hit / 56 damage + DC 15)
- 12 Defense (~213 hp + ~22 AC)
Based on what I see, the allegiance's Challenge Rating should be 11 instead of 9. Its damage resistances and magic resistance really beef up that defensive CR.
Under radiant shards: "Each shard hits a creature of the allegaince's choice that it can see within range." Range isn't specified, I think? 120 feet seems standard for that king of thing. I think you could double the damage output of each dart (or have it create six darts) to keep it on-par with its other attacks. Even with the auto-hit, it seems like casting flame strike or performing a multiattack would almost always be a better option, which is a little odd for a recharging action. — Guy (talk | edits) 05:20, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
- I completely derped and gave Allegiance the wrong hit dice for its size. Just made some changes to knock down its defensive CR.
- Let's see...
- 9 Offense (unchanged)
- 11 Defense (~189 hp + ~22 AC): x1.5 hp for resistances; +2 AC for magic resistance
- With the changes, its CR would now be 10, which I would say is close enough. If you wanted to bring its CR down to 9 exactly, you could bring its hit points to something between 97 and 117. The high AC seems appropriate considering it looks like it's pretty heavily armored, but high AC creatures often have lower hit points to compensate. — Guy (talk | edits) 22:09, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

- Last adjustment has now been made. Thanks for your input! :) Clockwerk66 (talk) 23:30, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
