Talk:Alert (3.5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
I wonder if the pricing on this enchantment is accurate? It mimics one property of the rod of alertness, which is an extremely expensive item costing 85,000 gold pieces. However the rod also acts as a magic weapon, grants its holder an initiative bonus and puts eight different 0-5th level spells at the user's disposal in addition to the danger-detection/warning of impending doom function, along with the effects of animate objects and prayer so naturally it's going to cost some money. The other important difference is that the alert function is always active. The fun thing is, though, that at a +2 price equivalent you can actually make a sort of lesser rod of alertness with this enchantment - a +1 alert light mace would cost a lot less than the rod does and provide two of its numerous functions. (Although arguably that's what the rod of enemy detection is.) I think I'll use this notion in the future for the game I run. Atypicaloracle 11:39, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
Arrows Of Alertness[edit]
I used this and allowed the players to have Arrows Of Alertness. It worked great, we were on stealth mission in a keep and to findout if thier was foes around the corner they just shot an Arrow of Alertness. --Milo High-Hill 01:29, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
