Talk:Abomination, Variant (5e Class)
Hulk Playtest[edit]
One of my players chose this class and the hulk subclass. 3 levels Abomination, Hulk/5 levels Barbarian, Zealout. Also want to include, they used a homebrew "race" Wolverine. I intentionally left Enrage bonus damage be so it could stack with barbarian's rage and it didn't create problems. The encounter was scaled down vampire spawn (20 hit points, single attacks, 3 less damage dealt), about 15ish and a vampire scaled down too (80 hit points, 2 legendary actions, no multiattack, 6 damage per attack, etc).
The class is admin heavy, meaning you are consistently tracking stress resource. A DM who minds this I wouldn't recommend allowing the class. The players racial trait fast healing wasn't enough to save them, they did die but brought back by magical healing. (party of 3 level 8s). While hulk mode, I started with the claws dealing 1d10 (increased in die size) but later I added 1d4 damage to this. The extra d4, similar to the Enlarge spell, really helped out with the feeling of doing more damage. Retaliatory strike was used numerous times, half a dozen maybe? which made things great for combat and just overall roleplay experience as this stressed creature is lashing out. A very good experience with this class. Player should be doing mock battles against barbarians and fighters the next couple weeks. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 07:48, 19 July 2018 (MDT)
Where is the maximum stress for each level? I couldn't find anything. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by PandaShoop (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- I edited to show a max level. I didn't realize I had left that part out, thank you asking about this. ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 11:52, 1 February 2019 (MST)
The class feature "damnations gift" appears twice on the class, once at 9th level, and again at 14th level.
Hulk Class Removal[edit]
