Talk:4e Optimized Character Builds
From D&D Wiki
Handbooks[edit]
Why are the handbooks here? We don't have the write ups for the classes. --Pwsnafu 18:25, 6 February 2008 (MST)
- A mistake in the DLP. Fixed. --Sam Kay 06:43, 8 February 2008 (MST)
Core Books Only[edit]
The Rogue of Speedy Death does not belong in this section, because it references the PH2 and Martial Power books. Should be moved to the WotC Only section. --Mozai
Copyright Concern[edit]
My dnd group has some optimized builds on our private group's dnd wiki and I am interested in porting them here. I'm concerned about what is and is not allowed in terms of violating copyrights. May I reference by name things like classes, races, powers, and feats as long as I don't include the actual text of what the power/feat/race/etc does? Lacitpo 07:36, 3 April 2009 (MDT)
- Since there is no OGL, you may look into using Fair Use Clause. --Ganre 09:21, 3 April 2009 (MDT)
- You can. You can't actually copyright any of the class or race names, and the power and feat names are not really origional enough for a copyright, so you can use names, so long as you don't include any of the actual text. In addition, referencing copyrighted names is allowed under the Fair Use clause, so long as it is for non-commercial use. --Sam Kay 12:27, 3 April 2009 (MDT)
