  • Support. A solid background. A great choice that offers a lot of roleplaying flexibility for the player. --Green Dragon (talk) 09:15, 17 December 2019 (MST)
  • Support. Although it has been years since I made this, after re-reading it still appears to be balanced, stable and useful for any setting. Marasmusine (talk) 07:00, 15 March 2020 (MDT)

*Neutral. Certainly an odd choice. I really like the feature though, and it makes sense in the context of how the profession was in a medieval setting. But I am not sure how well a profession fits as an entire background necessarily.--Yanied (talk) 10:24, 5 October 2020 (MDT)

  • It's been a while and it seems professions as backgrounds do work fine :D
I think this is an article I can support once the image is up. --Yanied (talk) 17:32, 6 November 2021 (MDT)
  • Support. Nice image is now up that fits the older timey flavor of fire fighting lesser recognized than our modern techniques. The idea of a firefighter is more than an occupation in the mainstream, which makes this a particularly interesting idea as a background. They are commonly conflated with certain ideals like a knight. In their case, heroism and bravery in the face of literal fire.--Yanied (talk) 23:41, 26 November 2021 (MST)
  • Support. I like the idea behind the background as there is there is a decent bit of history for fire fighters and because there are more than a few ways one can create a firefighter. One could create a firefighter with the ideals Yanied mentioned, but historically, some towns only provided firefighting services for those who paid for it. In addition, while I am not sure what people thought of fire fighters in non-modern times, some people may think they are crazy for trying to deal with fires, addicted to burning things, ect. That is beside the point though, I am supporting this background because it is well made and I believe it should qualify as a quality article.--Blobby383b (talk) 15:21, 1 December 2021 (MST)

Image[edit]

The external image has expired, I will find a better one. I have found a few good sources for public domain images: the British Library on flickr, Granger historical picture archive, and the Science Photo Library.

I think this one might be good as it is from about 1600. Marasmusine (talk) 17:18, 6 November 2021 (MDT)

Looks cool. - - Yanied (talk) 17:32, 6 November 2021 (MDT)
I agree and have gone and uploaded the file to the wiki and added it to this page. --Blobby383b (talk) 19:24, 26 November 2021 (MST)
