Talismans (Jujutsu Kaisen Supplement)
From D&D Wiki
Talismans[edit]
Talismans play a vital role in jujutsu society. They are pieces of paper that can serve various purposes. A set of talismans contains 25 pieces of paper and a writing utensil. A creature who is proficient with talismans can do the following 3 things:
- Cursed Energy Sealing
Cursed tools and objects leak cursed energy. To stop this sorcerers have learned how to use talismans to seal away the cursed energy so it cannot be tracked or sensed. Throughout a short or long rest, you may use 1 piece of paper to seal a cursed object. This cursed object will appear as if it has no cursed energy as it does not leak any. If the object is a tool, then its properties cannot be used while it is sealed. Special-grade tools and objects have lots of energy and have to have their seals replaced over time. Every 10 years the seals on a special grade object must be replaced.
- Shikigami Summoning
Talismans also play a pivotal role in the creation of shikigami. When using the Taming Shikigami and Cursed Spirits variant rule to create shikigami, the DC 25 Arcana check has it’s DC lowered to 20.
- Remote Barrier Activation
Talismans can be used to activate barriers away from the caster. When a caster is creating a barrier, that is not a domain expansion, they can put the barrier inside of a talisman. When done this way the caster must pay the original cost but the barrier is not created. Instead, the barrier is created when a creature does the appropriate method of activation while they have the talisman. This method of activation is chosen by the caster of the barrier.
- Other Functions
Talismans can do a wide amount of things. Creatures with this proficiency can come up with new creative ways to use talismans. You may work with your GM to create new functions for your talismans.
