Physical Description[edit]

Sprigatito is a feline Pokémon covered in green fur of varying shades. The fur's composition is similar to that of plants, with similar microscopic structures like chloroplasts and cell walls, allowing it to absorb sunlight for energy and even water. Thus, sprigatito is loath to ever let its fur dry out and will wash itself regularly. Sprigatito has green ear flaps with pale green fur towards the ear canal. It grows a fluffier tuft of fur on the front of its chest. They have a distinct green marking around its eyes and nose that resemble the leaf of a hemp plant, while also giving them the resemblance of a Siamese cat's face. Their eyes are quite large and have pink coloration. When its mouth is open, two pointed teeth can be seen in its upper jaw. It has a fluffy tail and small paws with pink paw pads underneath and no visible toes. These paw pads harbor special glands that release an aroma not unlike that of plants. Sprigatito is known to rub its paws together to utilize this aroma and stop foes from fighting due to its therapeutic effects. When exposed to sunlight, this scent is known to be stronger.

Upon evolution, sprigatito become floragato. Floragato sport claws developed from sprigatito's tiny paws, and they are larger. In addition to being able to conduct photosynthesis with their fur, a floragato's fur can harden based on its need in battle. These hardened furs are like needles. Floragato sport a trademark flower on their chest which connects to a vine wrapped about their body under their fur. This bud is actually like a weapon for floragato, and it swings it by the vine to scatter its spores or knock enemies away.

As meowscarada, the final evolution, this pokemon grows out portions of its fur to be like a cape. Its darker portions of the face also become like a mask, and the flower of floragato's blooms fully. This flower is now capable of producing other flowers, which are actually explosive pollen bombs that meowscarada uses to fight with.

History[edit]

Sprigatito are unique to the Paldea region, where they can enjoy areas with plenty of sun. They are known for developing a trickster nature as they evolve and are considered very vain and flashy creatures. It is commonly seen chasing other plant species like smolive around and playing with their bulbous bodies. Some people have observed that they are friendly with some regionally transplanted species like chikorita or chespin. In contrast, they are known to have a fierce rivalry with litten.

Society[edit]

Sprigatito were and are still found almost exclusively in the Paldea region. They are usually solitary pokemon, with around two to four being born per litter. They are led by the matured floragato and meowscarada to pursue acts of mischief. Because sprigatito is a pokemon that often demands attention, it makes them the perfect distractions for floragato and meowscarada to use in their schemes that often involve flower-bombing unsuspecting people and stealing stuff. Many people do find sprigatito cute and endearing, and its scents are known to be medicinally calming. However, this pokemon is also very capricious. Both its caprice and attention-seeking tendencies carry into its future evolutions. As a result, many people are suspicious and distrustful of its later evolutions, even if they are fond of sprigatito.

Sprigatito Names[edit]

Usually, sprigatito like names that are sort of obnoxious, with a mix of showmanship and purposeful intrigue. The latter portion often motivates a shift to use of aliases similar to that of criminals in later evolutions, as meowscarada are masked tricksters. Sprigatito will usually opt for the former, using things like titles to add to their lofty demeanor and justify their need for attention.
