Spear Dancer (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Spear Dancer[edit]
Fighter Archetype
Spear dancers are warriors specialized in using mobility and erratic movements in combination with deadly strokes from their spear, in a fighting style that seamlessly combines grace and brutality. Relying on speed and quick reflexes, these fighters whirl through the battlefield, delivering fast attacks while keeping their enemies at bay, at the tip of their spears.
- Flowing Spear
Starting at 3rd level, your skill and speed with the spear is unparalleled. You can use your Dexterity, instead of your Strength, for attacks and damage rolls with the spear. In addition, spears you wield are considered to have the reach property.
- Agile Footwork
Starting at 3rd level, whenever you make an attack with your spear, you can take the Disengage or Dash action using your bonus action.
- Barrage of Strikes
Also at 3rd level, you can unleash a furious flurry of strikes with your spear. Whenever you use Action Surge and take the Attack action using the additional action, you can make one additional attack with a spear, as part of that action.
- Quick Reflexes
At 7th level, you have become extremely agile and mobile. You gain proficiency in Dexterity (Acrobatics), and whenever you roll a 9 or lower on an Dexterity (Acrobatics) check, you can choose a 10 instead.
In addition, you gain proficiency in Dexterity saving throws.
- Twinned Strikes
At 10th level, once per turn, when you hit a creature with an attack from a spear, you can attack another creature within 5 feet of your first target, without taking an action.
- Darting Dash
Starting at 15th level, you can use your Action to dash through your enemies with ease, leading the path with your spear. Choose one creature you can see within a range equal to your movement speed. There must be an empty space within 5 feet of that creature, and the movement must be made in a straight line.
You can move through other creature's spaces when using this dash, and when you do so, you can force the creature to make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier) or take the damage of an attack from your spear. In addition, when you reach the chosen creature, you can make a single attack with the spear against it (without using an action).
- Footwork Mastery
At 18th level, you reach the full potential of your deadly spear dance. You can now use your Agile Footwork feature as a reaction, rather than using a bonus action.
In addition, as long as your movement is not reduced by any mundane or magical means, whenever a creature hit you with an attack you can see, you can use your reaction to attempt to evade the attack. Roll a Dexterity saving throw against the attack's result, and on a success, you avoid the attack entirely, taking no damage.
