Soulbound[edit]

Soulbinding is a very rare occurrence where one being's soul is taken out and put into another creatures body. Intentional or non-intentional, soulbinding is very risky and in a moral gray area. Even if its done willingly, if you tell anyone you're soulbound, you will likely be judged. Of course, being eternally bound to another person with no way to get away is horrible for most people's mental health.

It's possible that when someone experiences great grieving for one person, such as a child or a spouse, or even a pet, they may unintentionally soulbind to the lost love.

Mechanically speaking, it is recommended that you soulbind to another player, but you may work with your DM to soulbind with a creature or NPC. Your host is the person who's physical body you inhabit.

Half of your movement speed is added to the creature you are soulbound to their movement speeds, including climbing, swimming, and flying speeds, even if they don't have those movement speeds. Whenever your host takes damage, you take the damage from your health points before them. If you or your host has temporary hit points, the damage is dealt to their temporary hit points first, and once those are depleted, they deal damage to your temporary hit points, and once those are done, it goes to your hit points and then your hit points.

You do not have your own equipment, and your attacks are made through the host with your command, though they still use your ability scores. If you cast a spell with a somatic component, your host must have the capability to perform them. You can use any racial or class features you have, with all the limitations therein. Any proficiencies you have are shared with your host.

You may manifest a somewhat corporeal form if you wish. While in this form, you look spectral and you must stay within 60 feet of your host. If you exit that range, your form disintegrates, otherwise you stay in that form for an hour or until you die. While in that form, you may perform physical activities and make physical attacks as if you had your host's equipment. You may use this feature a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus(rounded down) and this feature recharges on a long rest.
