Sneasler are humanoid felines that shares some characteristics with a weasel. Their bodies are dark grey with purple accents around their face and ankles. Their fur is longer on its shoulders. They have long arms that extend to just above its ankles. On each arm is a dark brown spot, and their hands have three long poison-tipped claws, which are brown with three red lines streaking through. They have sharp, narrow eyes with red pupils and black markings resembling eyelashes on the edges. They has yellow diamond-shaped gems on their chest and head. Each foot has three sharp toes. Their left ear has a long black and red feather that extends down to their back, and they also has red and black feathers for a tail.

History[edit]

Sneaslers were first discovered in the snowy highlands of the ancient Hisui region, prior to it being known as the Sinnoh region. Though they share many similarities with their modern counterparts, it is not entirely known what caused them to change, though it is believed by some biologists that a change in their habitat and water supply caused it. However, this is unconfirmed. Because of this, Sneaslers are so rare that it is believed they are extinct. Notable differences between the two are that Hisuian Sneasel and Sneasler had glands which allowed them to inject toxins into their prey and were diurnal, whereas modern Sneasel and Weavile had no such glands and were nocturnal.

Ancient legend speaks of a hero who, with 10 other pokemon, one of which was a Sneasler, received a blessing from a deity known as "Almighty Sinnoh". The descendant of this Sneasler, a rather tall specimen, resided in the Coronet Highlands and was worshiped by the people of the Pearl Clan. She was under the care of a mysterious amnesiac wearing strange clothing known as Warden Ingo.

Society[edit]

Unlike modern Weavile, Sneaslers were solitary creatures. Once a member of a pack of Sneasel grew into a Sneasler, they would leave the pack to live on their own. Despite this and their daunting appearance, they, like the descendant of the blessed Sneasler, were not above helping humans and other creatures across the highlands by carrying them on their backs.
