Slifer was once a common red dragon feared by all, terrorizing all he could. At the height of his malevolent power and greed, he challenged the god Osiris as the true god of the skies. Osiris quickly defeated Slifer, only to use him for another purpose. As other Egyptian Gods had selected their avatars, he forced Slifer to become his avatar, the sky dragon. His appearance warped and breath itself changed from fire to lightning, Slifer was forced to become a force of good, only able to do good deeds despite his hatred for humanity and the god who has taken his freedom. When Osiris does not call for him, he flies above the clouds, mourning the time he spent ravaging villages and burning down pitiful human civilizations. Some say the thunderstorms are caused by his cries of anguish, and attempts to burn the ground only coming out as the thunder. |
