Shrinking Violet (5e Hazard)
From D&D Wiki
Shrinking Violet[edit]
This purple flower seems ordinarily harmless, but a DC 20 Nature Check reveals this is not the case. When the flower is disturbed by touching it or breathing on it, it releases a 20 foot cloud of spores. Each creature within the spores must make a DC 20 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, they collapse in a fit of coughing. When the spores clear, all creatures who failed the saving throw have their size 1 sixteenth of what they had before, effectively 4 sizes smaller. A creature who succeeded is 1 eighth of what they started, 3 sizes smaller. A fey creature of small or smaller is not affected by this shrinking. Creatures regain one size level every 1d10 rounds minus their constitution bonus.
A creature can attempt to pull a seed out of the flower, or pluck the flower, making a DC 20 Sleight of hand check. On a success, they pull it out, on a failure, a small cloud forms, affecting only them. If a creature eats a seed, it shrinks 1d4 size levels, and regains all of them over 1d4 days. If a creature eats the flower itself, it shrinks 6 size levels minus their constitution modifier. These levels don’t automatically regain, but every day, they can make a DC 20 Constitution saving throw. On a success, they regain one size level. On a failure, they can’t make another check the following day. Any shrinking can be restored with a lesser restoration spell of 8th level or higher, or with a antidote of some kind. Fey creatures automatically succeed the check to remove a seed or the flower, and some sprites use poison arrows with nectar from this flower to shrink their enemies down to their size.
