Medium humanoid, lawful evil Armor Class 13 (natural armor)
Saving Throws Con +7 Relentless (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If the shokan takes 16 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead. Standing Leap. The shokan's long jump is up to 20 feet and its high jump is up to 10 feet, with or without a running start. Heavy Landing. When the shokan makes a 20 foot long jump, the ground within a 40 foot radius shakes, causing all creatures within that radius to make a dexterity saving throw, on a failed save the creature is knocked prone and takes 4D8 bludgeoning damage and is stunned. Pack Tactics. The shokan has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the shokan's allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated. Innate Spellcasting. The shokan's innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 12). The shokan can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components: 2/day each: fire punch, fire bolt ACTIONSMultiattack. The shokan makes four fist attacks or two fist attacks if grappling a creature. Fists. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (3d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage. Grab. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (3d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage and if the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 14). Until this grapple ends, the creature is restrained, and the shokan can't grab another target. Strangle. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 0 ft., one grappled target. Hit: 18 (3d10 + 3) bludgeoning damage. the creature must make a Strength saving throw at the start of their turn with a DC of 15 to escape her grapple. On a fail, the target takes the damage. Leadership (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). For 1 minute, the shokan can utter a special command or warning whenever a nonhostile creature that it can see within 30 feet of it makes an attack roll or a saving throw. The creature can add a d4 to its roll provided it can hear and understand the shokan. A creature can benefit from only one Leadership die at a time. The effect ends if the shokan is incapacitated. BONUS ACTIONSFinish Him! When the shokan reduces a creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack on its turn, the shokan moves up to half its speed and uses one melee attack. REACTIONSRetaliation (2/Day). When the shokan takes damage from a creature that is within 5 feet of it, it can make a fist attack against that creature. |
Shokan are among the most brutish denizens of outworld, yet somehow, they have managed to reach a nearly royal status within the court of outworld, as long as they continue to use that brute strength against their enemies. Queen of the Shokan. After the death of the Shokan King Gorbak, a tournament was held for the crown of the Shokan. The male Shokan scoffed when Sheeva entered their contest, but Sheeva quickly proved herself to be more than their equal. After a resounding victory, she was crowned the first Queen of the Shokan. |
