Shaper of Earth (5e Feat)
Shaper of Earth
Prerequisites: Knows the mold earth cantrip
With experience and training, you have become well-versed in the ways of manipulating elemental earth, expanding the abilities of your mold earth cantrip. It gains the following additional abilities:
- You forcefully move a portion of loose earth or loose stone up to 5 feet in any direction. If this movement would strike a creature, that creature must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 1d6 bludgeoning damage on a failed save.
- You lift up and throw a portion of loose earth or stone, weighing no more than your spellcasting ability modifier in pounds, at a target within range. Make a ranged spell attack with this projectile, dealing bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 plus your spellcasting modifier on a hit.
- You shape and harden loose earth or loose stone into a bludgeoning weapon with weight equal to the material used. This weapon is nonmagical, and lasts for up to 1 hour.
- Over the process of 1 minute, you clad yourself in 90 pounds of loose earth or stone, donning stone armor. This armor lasts for up to 1 hour.
- As a reaction, you can brace your feet in earth or stone, adding your proficiency bonus to checks and saving throws made against being pushed, pulled, or knocked prone until the beginning of your next turn.
- You lift a portion of loose earth or loose stone and move it up to 5 feet in any direction. You can keep this portion and any other material within or atop it aloft for as long as you concentrate. The maximum weight you can lift with this ability (in pounds) is equal to your spellcasting ability score multiplied by your proficiency bonus, times 20.
- You burrow through earth or stone, leaving a tunnel in your wake. To tunnel through 5 feet of material, it takes 1 action for soft soil, 1 minute for tough earth, and 10 minutes for hard stone.
- You cause harmless tremors in the ground for 1 minute, as per the thumaturgy spell.
- At your touch, you mold a portion of loose earth or loose stone into shapes as you designate for up to 1 hour.
- You attempt to affect magical earth or stone using one of mold earth's other abilities. When you attempt to manipulate magical earth or stone this way, you must make a spellcasting ability check against a DC equal to the spell's level plus the caster's spell save DC; or against a DC of the DM's choice. On a failed check, nothing happens.
At the DM's option, you may attempt to manipulate earth or stone in a manner not described by this feat, but it should be no more powerful than the effects described above, and the effects must be within range and fit within a 5-foot cube. Your DM may ask for a relevant ability check or saving throw in order for the effect to work. The DM has final say on such a use of your abilities.
If you cast mold earth multiple times, you can have any number of non-instantaneous effects created by it active at a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as a bonus action. All such effects cease should you fall unconscious.
