The Selvics as a whole are a quiet race much preferred to spend there days studying the secrets of water and how to control its secrets. They are slightly like octopus in there looks and have some of the knowledge that there resembling race holds.They are no nonsense people and don't find much amusement in jokes. They do enjoy study and games of all kinds so that they may expand there minds and love riddles, puzzles and mind games. They can be as calm as an lake but can be as harsh as a stormy sea when angered. they are willing to let outsider into there city as long as they don't inhibit there research.

Physical Description[edit]

Selvics are tall humanoid like people and resemble humans in body structure. The males are usually between 5 to 6 feet tall while females average a bit less at 4' 7" to 5'10". There skin is aquatic blue and comes in many different shades of this. They have no hair on there bodies but instead have tentacles for hair, with men having occasional tentacles on there chins and females having longer tentacles on there head. There skin is very moist, even outside of water and has a slick shimmer to it, no unlike that of a frogs. There eyes range in colors from sea green to sapphire blue to icy pale blue.


Selvics are excepting of other races into there cities but will not make there cities more inhospitable just to attract guests. There cities are, however, in orbs of mucus like substance that holds water out for outsiders. They do very little exporting of goods to other races and mostly trade amongst themselves.


Being very impassive to change but disliking evil, Selvic's typical alignment is Neutral Good. There are a good many that are dead neutral or Lawful Neutral but only a rare few choose to be evil and about as many chaotic.


All under they ocean, the Selvics hold many dwellings and cities. The Capital of the Selvics is Umiquaria, a vast metropolis were the Selvics hold there greatest accomplishment, a tower that can purify the ocean around the city in a 4 mile radius. The city of Umiquaria holds a vast library that contains the most knowledge of any other in the multi universe. Many great scholars have spent lifetimes studying in the vast and elaborately made corridors of this library. Another important landmark is the Elsoria Mithrius or Elsoria Temple. This is a temple held to there great goddess of the ocean and Selvics. This temple also serves as the resting place for the great blade Aqarionus, dragon blade of water.


The Selvics primary religion is to Elsoria, the great goddess of the sea and all its mysteries. She teaches the Selvics to seek out and discover what mysteries she has placed in her domain. Many of her priests are also multiclass or all druids and are taught to keep in favor with all denizens of the ocean and are often seen talking to a school of fish or helping a hurt sea creature and are often returned the favor later.


Selvics speak Selvic, Aquan, and Common and can learn Elven, Sahuagin, Silvin, and any others they happen to find in there studies.


Selvics Have very watery sounding names. Male typical names are Umithri, Delmirth, Aquaran,and Solviras. Female name are Selvira, mirthinra, aquiris, and himsalvia. Family names are like the above as well.

Racial Traits[edit]

  • +2 wisdom, -2 charisma: Selvics are a wise and ancient race but are secluded and not very kind to outsiders. :
  • Humanoid (aquatic): Selvics are a watery race and dwell in the substance of there choise.
  • Medium:no benefits due to size
  • Selvics speed is 20 ft, swim 30 ft. Though graceful underwater, on land they are more sluggish and unaccustomed.
  • Amphibious(sp): Selvics are able to breath air as well as under water.
  • water affinity: +1 caster level on spells with water in there name or the water/ aquatic descriptor.
  • Selvics get a +8 racial bonus on swim checks and may take 10 always. They also get a +2 bonus on any 2 knowledge checks
  • Automatic Languages: Selvic, Aquan, Common. Bonus Languages: any
  • Favored Class: druid.
