Scalan is know as the Burning Lord, the Bright Lord, Father Scalan, the Hammer of the Dawn, and the Brass Sun. He is the Urdainish god of fire, life, & light and the principle deity of the Urdainish pantheon and is representative of every association of fire, progress, and innovation. The Urdains believe that it was Scalan that gave fire to the world at the advent of creation, a time when the gods walked with mortals and the Urdain race was young and trapped in a dark and cold world devoid of change or progress. They were weak, frightened, and feral creatures, infantile and helpless. Feeling pain for the powerless creatures, he gave them aid. Scalan plucked a single flame from the his brazen breast and gifted it them so that they would know it's warmth. For a time, the Urdains prospered. They grew and lived, but the fire that Scalan had given was small and in time it faded away and the Urdain were left again to fend for themselves in the darkness. Scalan had grown to care for the Urdain and could not bare to see them return to the frightened state in which he found them, so again he plucked a flame from his breast and gifted it to the Urdain, and again the flame faded. Over and over, Scalan would gift his Urdains with fire only for it to fade away, so he, with divine wisdom, once again drew a great flame from his breast, one much large and grander than ever before, one that would not fade. But this flame was not given to the Urdains, for it's power was far too great for mortals to handle. Rather, Scalan raised the great flame up and set about it in the sky to warm the earth and light the day. With the great flame above, the Urdains grew strong & powerful and built great civilizations. Scalan was pleased, for he too grew strong with the Urdains as they gave praises to him and fought in his name and told tales of the great crimson colossus. He stayed with his Urdains until it was time for him to take his leave with rest of the gods when the divides between realms were formed they could no longer freely walk the earth.

After leaving the mortal world and making their home within the divine plane of Primeaus, Scalan, his brother god Valdur, and several other Urdainish gods took residence within a realm of his own making named Naurignaes. It is a realm of flame & heat where the closer to Scalan's palace one is, the hotter it they feel. The food is always hot, even the fruits of the realm have a natural heat and spice to them, and the drink bares a soothing warm sensation that relaxes any that taste it. The grass of the realm glint with a golden color and the trees are crowned with scarlet leaves that sway in the warm winds beneath a sky that dances like a flame with red and orange and yellow. Nestled within a dense range of ore-rich, volcanic mountains is Scalan's city of glittering bronze and crimson brass. It's metal towers rise high into the sky and the wrought iron streets are flanked with streams of molten copper that flow throughout the city, and at its center stands Scalan's grand palace.

Atop a red throne of brass surrounded by braziers of eternal flame rests Scalan himself. The flame god is a crimson monolith of immense power, incredible waves of heat radiate from his metallic body. He is as a great armored colossus with the glow of fire defining his muscles and his eyes smolder and churn like boiling magma. The center of his breast bares a circular vent through air flows to stoke the internal flame of life that burns brightly within Scalan.

Of all the Urdainish gods, there are only three that have earned Scalan's ire, fury, and rage. They are Scalan's brother god Valdur, Laneth the Undead Goddess, and Scamir, Scanlan's forsaken son. Together these gods form what is know to the Urdains as the Triad of Tribulations. The Triad are Scalan's sworn enemies and he has vowed to destroy them and free the Urdains from their corrupting influence.

As the principle deity of the Urdains people, Scalan is venerated by nearly every Urdain in their everyday life. For the holiest of days and occasions, Scalan's clergy of clerics known as Children of Scalan perform sacred rites and rituals of fire by burning bundles special ceremonial incense with offerings of finest animals & jewels in great braziers within the Houses of Scalan whist prayers are spoken and hymns are sung. The Houses of Scalan are grandiose temples of red brass etched with bronze are erected in his honor. They're filled with idols of Scalan flaked by braziers and a central brazier at the back of the temple in front of a massive statue of the flame god where holy rites are performed and blessing are given.

Any story or quest centering around or using Scalan should include at least one member of the Triad of Tribulations. It should also be heavily fire themed with a focus on destroying cold creature or artifacts of the triad.
