Sand Snake (5e Creature)
From D&D Wiki
Sand Snake[edit]
Large beast, unaligned Armor Class 14
Skills Perception +4 Ambusher. The snake has advantage on attack rolls against any creature it has surprised. Blind Senses. The snake can't use its blindsight while deafened and unable to smell. Sandshifter. The area within 10 feet of the snake is treated as though under the quicksand spell, unless the snake is incapacitated. Standing Leap. The snake's long jump is up to 30 feet and its high jump is up to 15 feet, with or without a running start. ACTIONSBite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw, taking 7 (2d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Deadly Leap. If the snake jumps at least 15 feet as part of its movement, it can then use this action to land on a space that contains one or more other creatures. Each of those creatures must succeed on a DC 16 Strength or Dexterity saving throw (target's choice) or be knocked prone and take 16 (4d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage. On a successful save, the creature takes only half the damage, isn't knocked prone, and is pushed 5 feet out of the snake's space into an unoccupied space of the creature's choice. If no unoccupied space is within range, the creature instead falls prone in the snake's space. BONUS ACTIONSCoil. The snake coils its body and gains a +2 bonus to its AC and an additional +3 to hit with its bite attack or a 10-foot bonus to its next long jump. Otherwise, its movement becomes 0 while coiled. The snake must take another bonus action to become uncoiled.

Sand snakes are great slithering beasts that wander the deserts in search of unsuspecting prey to feed upon. |
