SRD Talk:Sun Blade

Rules issue here...the Sun Blade is listed as dealing x3 criticals to undead, but undead are immune to critical hits.

As the weapon is specifically built to hurt undead and negative plane creatures, we can infer that the description of the weapon is both intended and valid. --Dmilewski 18:30, 27 November 2009 (MST)
My take on things is that while undead remain immune to critical hits (and therefore take only double damage from the Sunblade), there are creatures of the negative plane (such as Xeg-yi) that are not immune to critical hits. These creatures would take double damage from the Sunblade, but a critical hit would deal the 3x damage referred to in the rules for the sword.
I think it's mostly to say that you can 3x crit negative energy creatures. Its inclusion there does mean that if you do have a class that allows you to crit undead (I'm almost positive there's at least one prestige that does), then they'd get hit with the 3x too.

That sunlight power the blade has... when it says "like full daylight", does that mean simply as bright as daylight like a daylight spell, or is it full-spectrum vampire-frying real sunlight? --Lord Eric (talk) 13:27, 21 August 2017 (MDT)
