so i have the 3.0 books, and not the 3.5 books, but crossbows (other than repeating) only were not allowed full attacks (as after you fired once you needed either move, or full actions to reload for another shot). not sure if this has been expanded to other weapons, as slings now are said to need move actions to reload. repeating crossbows are said to use free actions for reloading (not reloading the clip mind you) and shuriken are said to reload like ammunition, i am pretty sure that these can use the full attack option, and while what is written does not counter this in any way, it might need some clarification (i don't think that drawing ammunition is mentioned at all as far as what type of action it is, and in 3.0 it is explicitly stated that one can use their full attack with a repeating crossbow in its description.) so while it seems easy to figure out these things, it might be nice if it was clarified, so that someone building a character might want to stray from crossbows (and now slings) if he also wants rapid shot feat, or is expecting to use one's extra attacks.--Jamoecw 17:50, 17 August 2009 (MDT)

The rules as written make dedicated attacking with any weapon other than a bow fairly non-viable. Builds that use any other ranged weapon tend to be highly specific builds just to make the concept work. --Dmilewski 19:54, 18 August 2009 (MDT)
