is there any point to taking levels in epic mystic theurge? (posted by 76.171.246.52 on 13 October 2013)

Let's say you gained one level in Cleric and one in Wizard, then ten in Mystic Theurge. You have access to one level 6 wizard spell per day, as if you had taken eleven levels in Wizard. But you're still a level 1 wizard. If you spend your next level on Wizard, you get to level 2 in Wizard, which gives you zero extra spells per day. You spent your thirteenth level to learn six spells.

If instead you went on with the Epic Theurge path, you gain spells as if you got to level 11 as a wizard. Instead of ending as a level 11 wizard and effectively a level 10 cleric when you reach level 20, you end as a level 15 wizard and level 15 cleric, almost.
