Rune Scribe

Prerequisites: Dexterity 13, Intelligence 13, proficiency in the Arcana skill, proficiency with the smith's tools, and knowledge of how to write in Giant.
Your extensive education in the arcane has made you an expert on the various forms of magical runes. You gain the following benefits.

  • Choose one of the following master runes: ild, stein, vind or kalt rune. You discover that rune. Over the course of 1 hour (which counts are light activity) you can inscribe that rune in an object of your choice. You can only have one object inscribed with that rune at the same time, and inscribing a new object makes the first one lose its magical properties.
  • You can activate one of the complex properties of the chosen rune without using spell slots, as if using a 1st-level spell slot. You can't do it again until you finish a long rest.
  • If you have spell slots, you can activate the complex properties of your chosen rune using them.
