Ruby Firewall
6th-level Evocation
Casting time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S, M (a ruby worth at least 100 gp, which the spell consumes)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

You conjure a blazing wall of fiery ruby crystals at a point you choose within range. The wall appears as either a straight line up to 60 feet long, 10 feet high, and 5 feet thick, or a ringed wall up to 20 feet in diameter, 20 feet high, and 5 feet thick. The wall emits intense heat, shedding bright light for 30 feet and dim light for an additional 30 feet.

When the wall appears, each creature within its area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 6d8 fire damage, or half as much damage on a successful save. One side of the wall, selected by you when you cast this spell, sends forth waves of heat, causing creatures that end their turn within 10 feet of that side to take 2d8 fire damage.

At Higher Levels.

- 7th Level Slot: Increase the damage dealt when the wall appears and to those ending their turn near the heated side of the wall by 1d8 each. Thus, the initial damage becomes 7d8 fire damage, and the heat damage becomes 3d8 fire damage.

- 8th Level Slot: Increase both the initial and heat damage by an additional 1d8 (8d8 and 4d8, respectively).

- 9th Level Slot: Increase both the initial and heat damage by an additional 1d8 (9d8 and 5d8, respectively). Additionally, the wall can have a maximum length of 90 feet, or a ringed diameter up to 30 feet.
