Reya's Torment (5e Equipment)
Staff, artifact (requires attunement by a bard, druid, sorcerer, warlock, or wizard)
This ironwood staff has a rough diamond in it's branch-like tendrils. With it, you may cast Tasha's Hideous Laughter at will.
Attunement: The only way to attune to this staff is to cast Tasha's Hideous Laughter with it twice in one day. If the user doesn't have an open attunement slot, it replaces the item they attuned to last.
Once attuned, you may cast each of the following spells without any additional components, using a number of charges equal to the indicated spell's level -1: detect thoughts, bestow curse, compulsion, modify memory, soul cage, mental prison, resurrection, feeblemind, imprisonment
This staff acts as all of the costly components for any of the spells it grants. Spells which break or consume costly components do not break Reya's Torment, and such spells do not end until you wish them to. (Eg: soul cage does not have a limited number of questions, does not release the contained soul after 8 hours, and the soul can be set free without breaking the staff.) A wish spell can negate or reverse the effects of any spell cast from this staff.
Any expended charges are regained each day at dusk.
While attuned to this staff, you are immune to being charmed or frightened, and you regain 1d6 hit points at the start of your turn If you have at least 1 hit point.
While attuned to this artifact, all Holly water within 10 feet of you is destroyed, and you must determine your alignment daily at dawn by rolling a d6 twice. On the first roll, a 1-2 indicates lawful, 3-4 neutral, and 5-6 chaotic. On the second roll, a 1-2 indicates good, 3-4 neutral, and 5-6 evil.
