Radiation Sickness (5e Disease)
From D&D Wiki
Radiation Sickness[edit]
Contracting Radiation Poisoning[edit]
Generally, a creature begins to gain Greys after spending 1 minute in a Radiation Field. This can be changed at the DM's discretion depending on the source. Weak Radiation Fields accumulate 1 Grey per instance, while Intense Radiation Fields accumulate double the amount. One Grey is lost every long rest, or through medical treatment.
Tiers[edit]
Higher tiers of Grey accumulation include the previous tiers.
1-5 Greys The creature suffers no short-term or long-term effects.
6 Greys "Your stomach begins to churn..." Constitution saving throws are done at a disadvantage, ignoring any features that would say otherwise.
8 Greys "Your head begins to throb.." Intelligence saving throws are done at a disadvantage, and Concentration checks must be done at the beginning of the creature's turn, as if it had taken damage.
10 Greys "Your hand begins to tremble..." Melee or ranged attacks are done with disadvantage. Ranged attacks within the long range or beyond always miss.
14 Greys "Your skin begins to burn..." At the beginning of each of its turns that the creature remains in a radiation field, the affected creature takes 1d6 Fire damage that surpasses resistances and immunities, except for resistances and immunities to radiation. Outside of a radiation field, the damage will persist for a minute per Grey accumulated.
18 Greys "Your body moves involuntarily..." Due to an onset of ataxia, the creature's movement speed and dexterity score is halved.
25 Greys "Your nervous system gives in..." The creature's movement is reduced to 0, it gains disadvantage to all ability checks and saving throws, and is incapacitated.
30 Greys Instant death. The body can be revived by normal means only once a week has passed, afterwards, the creature will be under the effect of 25 greys.
Treatment of Greys[edit]
Accumulated Greys can be removed with medicines, cure wounds, and similar such abilities and spells.
