The Protoss hail from an alternate demi-plane they call Aiur. They are an enigmatic and psionically gifted race, and while generally peaceful, they tend to view themselves as superior to other races.
Physical Qualities[edit]
Protoss are humanoid with very tall and lithe forms. They have long, digitigrade legs with two toes. Their hip-bones are very pronounced and stand out and above their thin waists. Their arms are long, reaching most of the way to their knees, and their hands have four clawed digits, the outer two of which are opposable like thumbs. They have a slight natural hunch, with broad, featureless faces except for their eyes, which glow with a blue light that flare in times of stress or emotion.
Attitudes and Beliefs[edit]
The Khalai are connected through a psionic network called the Khala. Using the Khala they can sense emotions and memories of any member of their race connected to the Khala. The protoss are a very honor-bound society and believe that the best way to glory the Khala and their race is to achieve great feats of heroism or bravery.
Khalai Adventurers[edit]
Khalai adventurers are fairly common, seeking not to gain monetary wealth, but to achieve glory for their name and their tribe.
Zealot Protoss Zealots augment their natural athleticism with honed psionic discipline.
High Templar Some Protoss are natural paragons of their innate psionic power. Templars learn to hone this energy into blasts of energy.
Preserver Preservers are experts at using their psionic abilities to aid their allies.
Three sample Khalai adventurers are described below.
An imposing warrior clad in glowing golden plate ignites two pulsating psionic blades from his arms, with a great warcry he leaps into a sea of enemies, dispatching them with swift justice.
Floating inches above the ground, a robed figure stands with his arms raised in meditation. Bolts of psionic energy jump between his hand as he readies a devastating barrage.
A lone warrior stands among her fallen comrades, projecting her will into a shield of psionic energy to protect her friends.
