Ex-Patience Soul[edit]

Characters who lose their patience, act recklessly, or abandon their supportive role can no longer advance in this class. Such characters can atone by demonstrating sustained patience and support over a prolonged period, subject to the DM's discretion. Additionally, they may need to undertake a significant quest or task that proves their recommitment to the virtues of patience and support.

Campaign Information[edit]

Playing a Patience Soul[edit]

Religion: Patience Souls often revere deities associated with endurance, wisdom, and protection. Gods like Ilmater, the Crying God, or Heironeous, the god of chivalry and valor, might be common choices. However, a Patience Soul’s connection to their inner calm and resilience often transcends specific religious affiliations.

Other Classes: Patience Souls work exceptionally well with classes that benefit from support, such as Fighters, Rogues, and Wizards. They can provide stability and a defensive edge in various situations. While they may not be the primary damage dealers, their presence can turn the tide in challenging encounters.

Combat: In combat, Patience Souls should focus on maintaining their defensive abilities and providing support to their allies. Using abilities like Patience Manifestation and Steady Resolve can protect the party from harm and ensure that allies remain resilient in the face of threats. Their role is often that of a protector and stabilizer rather than a direct combatant.

Advancement: As Patience Souls gain experience, they should focus on enhancing their Wisdom and Constitution scores to improve their abilities. Feats that bolster their defensive capabilities or enhance their supportive role, such as Iron Will or Endurance, are excellent choices.

Patience Souls in the World[edit]

Daily Life: A typical day for a Patience Soul might involve meditative practices to maintain their inner calm, training to hone their abilities, and time spent in service to their community or allies. They often take on roles that require calm and steadfastness, such as healers, advisors, or guardians.

Notables: Famous Patience Souls might be renowned for their unwavering dedication in the face of adversity. They are often remembered for acts of selflessness and their ability to bring calm to chaotic situations.

Organizations: Patience Souls might form or join organizations dedicated to peacekeeping, support, and protection. These groups can be found within larger religious orders, knightly orders, or as independent groups committed to maintaining stability and support.

NPC Reactions[edit]

NPCs typically view Patience Souls with respect and admiration, recognizing their supportive nature and the stability they bring to any situation. Those who understand the value of patience and resilience may seek out Patience Souls for advice, protection, or partnership.

Patience Soul Lore:

Characters with knowledge of local legends or religious lore can make a Knowledge (religion) check to learn about Patience Souls.

20 Patience Souls are known for their unique ability to remain calm and composed in the most dire situations, making them invaluable members of any adventuring party.

Encounters:

Patience Souls might be encountered as steadfast guardians, wise advisors, or essential support in an adventuring party. They can also appear as NPCs who provide crucial assistance or guidance during a campaign.

Sample Encounter[edit]
