The most specious genus of thescelosaurs in Kaimere is Ophititan ("Snake titan"), the serpent drakes. So named for their necks, these omnivores are found throughout the waterways of the Known World, with even a few marine species noted. Though omnivorous, they tend to be more selective feeders than other thescelosaurs, with a preference for high nutrient food stuffs like crustaceans, fruit, and leaf buds. Most ophititan are about a meter long, though some are larger: the Kenterim Island species, the keet, regularly pass seven meters likely due to a scarcity of large herbivores in the archipelago's uplands where the only other large herbivore is the byamdan exceeds their mass. The tamonkoku of Pakardia is heavier than most ophititan species, though shorter due to a more compact build resulting from Pakardia's colder climate. There are legends that north of the Known World there are giant sea serpent drakes, but these are unsubstantiated. Varient:KeetAs stated above, the keet of the Kenta Islands is larger than most ophititan. They are Large creatures, have 15 (2d10+4) hit points, and a CR of 1 (200 XP), but otherwise use the same statblock. |
