OGC talk:Noble (5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
No weapon proficiencies at all? Even the wizard gets a couple of simple weapons. Not to mention, the noble in the SRD uses a rapier and wears a breastplate. SirSprinkles (talk) 17:50, 9 August 2017 (MDT)
- Only the BASE noble class, since it's primarily focused on bolstering other party members. Nobles and princes aren't typically accustomed to fighting their own battles in general. Also, two out of the three archetypes grant weapon proficiencies, so weather or not you know how to use weapons depends on what class "path" you take. Clockwerk66 (talk) 18:50, 9 August 2017 (MDT)
Is this the same Noble class found in EN Publishing's A Touch of Class product? I'm looking at the preview for that class, and up to 5th level, this class seems exactly the same, word-for-word. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs) . . 19:32, 9 August 2017 (MDT) EDIT: I believe that supplement and everything from En5ider is published under the OGL, in which case this page should make note of that. 19:53, 9 August 2017 (MDT)
- It seems to be the same as a paid product, so I'm going to need a reason why it can be here. Is this your copyright? Is it under license?--GamerAim (talk) 20:09, 9 August 2017 (MDT)
- The product appears to be under the OGL (I think. I don't actually have the sourcebook), so we actually might be able to keep it here, and transcribe the rest of the product as we've done for multiple 3.5e sourcebooks. IANAL though, so take this with a grain of salt. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs) . . 20:53, 9 August 2017 (MDT)
- As long as it only reproduces OGL sections of the work, that's fine, but as it's from a publication, it technically falls under the purview of the d20 Open Game Content Publication Transcription Project. Unless this is a homebrew variant of it? I'll need to work with you (Clockwerk66) to integrate it with the OGC namespace. This will certainly be interesting :) --GamerAim (talk) 05:22, 10 August 2017 (MDT)
- Alright then...what is it you need me to do exactly? Clockwerk66 (talk) 07:32, 10 August 2017 (MDT)
- Wouldn't we need to find a way to rework the OGC section to accept 5e content? Because it seems to be primarily geared towards 3.5e content right now. Clockwerk66 (talk) 08:45, 10 August 2017 (MDT)
- It will require some work on my part, but it should be possible. The OGC pages were designed to be as modular and system-neutral as possible, though they were naturally geared towards 3.5e, I'll admit. I believe it should be a simple matter of me adding a few categories and DPL checks and such. I will inform you as soon as I am done :) --GamerAim (talk) 11:00, 10 August 2017 (MDT)
- Ok then. I'll keep an ear open for when you are ready. :) Clockwerk66 (talk) 12:09, 10 August 2017 (MDT)
Hello again GamerAim! Just wanted to check in to see how things are going with what we talked about above. Clockwerk66 (talk) 08:37, 15 August 2017 (MDT)
