Because the rules for creating monsters are not consistent with the monsters in the monster manual, there is a level of uncertainty on what is acceptable. I am creating these rules to widen the design space for monsters and make more Higher AC, high CR monsters, so as to decrease the slog of high-level combat.

The intention is for DMs to take the HP total and damage per round suggestions from the creating quick monster stats table and tinker with the specifics of the monster using this table.

Increase Max HP Loss
AC increased by 1 -30 Max HP
1 additional legendary action (Max 5) -25 Max HP
1 additional Legendary resistance (Max 5) -35 Max HP
10 additional damage per round -40 Max HP
