Flame Body. A creature that touches Moltres or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 11 (2d10) fire damage.

Brilliant flames. Moltres sheds bright light in a 60-foot radius and dim light for an additional 60 feet. As a bonus action, Moltres can double both ranges, forcing each creature within 60 feet of itself to make a DC 16 constitution saving throw, being blinded until the end of their next turn on a fail.

Lava Rejuvenation. Whenever Moltres would take fire damage from lava, it takes no damage and regains a number of hit points equal to half the fire damage dealt.


Multiattack. Moltres uses heat wave twice or makes 3 Wing Attacks.

Heat Wave. Moltres exhales a wave of hot air in a 60 foot cone beginning from itself. Each creature in this area must make a DC 19 Constitution saving throw, taking 49 (9d10) fire damage on a failed save.

Wing Attack. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d12 + 3) bludgeoning damage plus 11 (2d10) fire damage.

Ancient Power (5/day). Moltres summons and throws chunks of ancient rock at a creature they can see within range. The target must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw, taking 7 (2d6) bludgeoning damage on a failure. In addition, if the target fails the save, Moltres gains a +1 bonus to its armor class, attack rolls, initiative bonus, saving throw DCs, and saving throws it makes for 1 minute.


Pressure. When a creature that Moltres can see casts a spell or uses an ability or feature that has multiple uses per short and/or long rest, Moltres forces them to make a DC 19 wisdom save, expending an additional spell slot or use on a failed save.


The can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Detect. Moltres makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.

Roost (Costs 3 Actions). Moltres lands on the ground and regains 26 (4d12) hit points.
