You touch a nonmagical weapon and transmute part of its substance into a dense, crystalline form, imbuing it with the strength and properties of minerals. For the duration, the weapon becomes a magic weapon with a +1 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls. Additionally, once per turn when the wielder hits with the weapon, it deals an extra 1d6 damage of a type associated with a gemstone (choose acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder).
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls increases by +1 for every two slot levels above 4th. Additionally, the extra damage dealt by the weapon increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 4th.
