Mewling (5e Race)
Mewling[edit]
Physical Description[edit]
Describe normal Mewlings.
History[edit]
Most of them are by-products of cloning programs what created Mewtwo. Most are results of amateur geneticists trying to create life or experiment with genes; due to incidents of Mewtwo clones destroying labs and killing people, many less-robust scientists decided to experiment with something more safe - "something what wouldn't try to kill me - or, just in case, would die from shotgun blast to the face". Mewlings were such things - living supplements for student's graduation works.
Mewling Hybrids, while stronger than normal Mewlings, are not all "ultimate lifeforms" like legendary Mewtwo is. Such culled experiments often end up looking misshapen or malformed (though still intimidating and athletic), and hide that fact under military-like fatigues covering their entire bodies; it gets to the point, what many body parts are replaced from birth - with cybernetics, or vat-grown organs - due to said body parts missing or being mangled to the point of being non-functional ("He only needs replacements for his lungs and right leg? Damn, that one is lucky!"). Nevertheless, they often get overly proud about their perceived "superiority" - Evil ones commonly end up assembling into equivalent of "neo-nazi cults"; they are, generally, a lot more brutish, aggressive and uncivilized than Mewtwo, as they didn't yet develop any sort of morals or ethics - not only due to high levels of aggression and sadism, but rather mainly because they're not smart and not civilized enough to understand what they're doing anything wrong, or to understand any civilized manners (like big, extremely violent children), what with their fixation on combat ("only thinks about defeating his foes") makes them utterly barbaric ("you think, what i shouldn't make jackets out of human skin? that idea is indeed stupid - not because of your dumb "morals", but because human skin is fragile. so you humie want me to eat that corpse or what?"). After all, Mewtwo is smart enough to rationalize and have morals; Mewling Hybrids didn't reach his levels yet, being wholly obsessed with "ultimate soldier" idea. They don't shy away from using technological weapons, armor and gear for their advantage, being overly enthusiastic about military wares; "we aren't Ultimate Weapons, so we use whatever we can; artificial weapons are better than natural ones - be they steel or living".
Society[edit]
<Race Name> Names[edit]
Male:
Female:
Artificially created: Patient M-1092; Test Subject 56A; "massive pile of letters and numbers"; "you mean, whatever's written on on my back?"; "it's on this QR code on my chest"; "my name? what is a name?". Rather commonly named as variations of "Patient", "Test Subject", "Subject", "Experiment", etc.
Artificial Hybrid: Most are simply named "Mewtwo". If they socialize with lab's crew - fail to, or choose not to, blow up the lab and escape - they're name equivalent is "massive pile of letters and numbers" near their job's descriptor (e.g. "Soldat", "Commando", "Agent", "Trooper", "Engineer", etc).
